Despite the point difference between him and Manchester United, Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp believes that his team will not participate in the Champions League next season.

Liverpool ranks fifth in the ranking table with 62 points, while United comes fourth with 63 points, but the latter has one less match.

And Klopp spoke at a press conference today, Friday, saying: “When I speak to a player to include him, and if I am allowed to speak, you can know if he is interested in joining us. We will not participate in the Champions League next season 100%, and they know that.”

Klopp continued his talk about transfers, saying: “We have one thing that we cannot guarantee that will happen next season, but everything else continues as it is. We are a great club and Liverpool is still attractive to many players. I am not worried about transfers.”

"But of course it is more difficult without the Champions League," he added.

Regarding the recent improvement in the team's results, he said: "We tried to do our best in many things. It was like breathing new air for everyone."

And when asked about breaking Mohamed Salah’s number after Manchester City striker Erling Haaland became the most goals-scoring player in one season in the English Premier League, Klopp said: “No, he will not be overlooked. This will not happen from Liverpool fans. Salah will be one of the greats when he ends his career, he still has Several years and his numbers will keep getting better."

Haaland became the most goalscorer in one season in the history of the English Premier League, after he broke the number of Mohamed Salah, who scored 32 goals in the 2017-2018 season.

Klopp spoke again about the Champions League and said: "We did not talk about turning the tables on Barcelona or Alisson's goal against West Bromwich, but everyone here remembers our presence when miracles happened, but then it was in our hands, now we have to win but that does not mean anything, A few weeks ago, I didn't see us participating in the Champions League.

Liverpool will visit Leicester City next Monday at King Power Stadium in the 36th round of the English Premier League.

Leicester ranks 18th, leading to relegation, with 30 points.
