Chelsea have announced the signing of Chicago Fire goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina.
The 18-year-old American goalkeeper signed with Chelsea for 6 years until 2028.
According to Sky Sports Italia journalist Fabrizio Romano, the deal has cost Chelsea about $15 million.
Slonina will return to Chicago Fire on loan until the end of the season in the USA and will join Chelsea next January.
Slonina will be Chelsea's fourth signing this summer, after Senegalese defender Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli, Raheem Sterling of Manchester City, and Karne Chokwemica of Aston Villa.
Chelsea entered the deal for Brighton defender Mark Cucurea, after his hopes of signing Jules Conde, the Sevilla defender, were dashed for Barcelona in recent days, according to Fabrizio Romano.
While "The Athletic" revealed that Chelsea are working to sign Wesley Fofana, Leicester City defender, and Denzel Dumfries, Inter back.
