He added, "The financial prizes of the African Super League are 100 million dollars each year, the champion will win 11 million dollars, and all these initiatives will show the feasibility of taking the African Super decision."
He continued, "We gave 10 million dollars to develop football in African schools, and the African Super is a plan to develop African football, and the Frenchman, Arsene Wenger, is doing an exceptional job in terms of developing football."
He continued, "The tournament will start in August 2023, and preparations for it start from next month through interaction with senior consultants and companies."
He continued, "The coverage and infrastructure of the Super League will be high, and Pierluigi Collina, the former Italian referee, will ensure the conduct of the matches in an effective manner and supervise the application of video technology in all matches."
He concluded, "We will deal with the best sponsors of this league, and our desired goal is to reach the top through the African Super, and today we will witness a qualitative shift in football."
"I will be present for the first match in the African Super when this competition takes place," Infantio said.
And he added, "This is a big project and an initiative that has a lot of innovation and creativity and includes a lot of high football values and a project that has been carefully studied by football experts in Africa and the world. As a representative of FIFA, we felt Africa's need to create this competition, and this applies to the rest of the continents and to finding new initiatives such as the African Super."
He stressed, "The dream will become a reality in August 2023 and this project will benefit the continent. The players are shining outside Africa and the African player has the right to a high salary within the continent, and we will witness the presence of 24 teams from 16 countries."
African Super League system (Super League):
It includes 24 teams according to the classification of clubs in the CAF.
The 24 clubs are divided into 3 groups, each group comprising 8 teams, according to the geographical distribution of the continent: (North African group - West and Central Africa group - East and Southern Africa group).
The tournament starts in August and ends in May.
The matches in the group stage are played in the home and away system, meaning that each team will play 14 matches.
The top 5 teams from each group, plus the best sixth-placed team from among the three groups, qualify for the round of 16 competition.
While the 8 teams that did not qualify for a new league play their own to stay in the next season of the competition, the last two teams will be relegated to the African Champions Cup.
From the round of 16 to the final, all matches will be played on a home and away basis.
A one-match final that CAF described in the tournament introduction video as the "Africa Super Bowl" will take place.
