Liverpool announced on Thursday the contract extension of its young player Harvey Elliott.
"The club can confirm that Harvey Elliott has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool," Liverpool said in a statement.
Speaking about his delight at the extension of his contract, Elliott said: "It is always good to know that I will be here for many more years."
"How wonderful it is to continue with the club that I support since childhood," he added to his club's website.
"There is nothing in this world that makes me happier and more excited than this."
Liverpool signed Elliott at the age of 16 from Fulham in the summer of 2019 for one million and 700 thousand euros, and then loaned him to Blackburn.
And in July 2020, Liverpool Football Club announced that Harvey Elliott had signed his first professional contract after reaching the legal age.
And Elliott revealed earlier that he had refused an offer to join Real Madrid before his move to Liverpool, because of what Sergio Ramos, the royal captain, had done with Mohamed Salah in the 2018 Champions League final, causing his injury. (See details).
In February 2021, Liverpool FC welcomed the ruling by the British Court of Sports over the right to sponsor Harvey Elliott in favor of his former club Fulham.
The English court issued a ruling awarding 1.5 million pounds, in addition to 2.8 million pounds depending on the player's performance, in favor of the club Fulham, in which the player grew up.
"Liverpool FC can confirm the decision taken by the Professional Football Compensation Commission regarding player Harvey Elliott," Liverpool said in a statement at the time.
"Liverpool Football Club respects the outcome of the committee's fair and thorough investigation into this matter. We would like to thank the committee for their time and diligence in reaching a decision," the statement added.
Fulham had decided to go to court to obtain adequate compensation for the departure of his academy graduate, after Liverpool offered to pay only one million pounds.
"We now look forward to welcoming Harvey back from his loan spell at Blackburn Rovers in the summer and helping him continue to build a long and successful career at Liverpool."
At 16 years and 174 days old, Harvey Elliott became the youngest player in Liverpool history to start a competitive match.
