Kylian Mbappe, the Paris Saint-Germain player, revealed the three candidates he believes are the most worthy of entering the final list for the Ballon d'Or award.
The French magazine "France Football" announced all the names of the nominees for its annual awards for the year 2022, the most important of which is the Golden Ball (Balloon d'Or) for men and women.
Mbappe's name came from among the 30 candidates that were announced to compete for the Ballon d'Or award, which was presented to the best player last season.
Mbappe said in statements to France Football magazine: "I nominate myself with Karim Benzema and Sadio Mane for the final list of the Ballon d'Or."
He continued, "I would like to say that this year has been successful for Benzema, he is 34 and he has just played his best season in his life and won the Champions League again and was decisive in most of his matches. If I was generous and did not win it this year, I will stop thinking about the Golden Ball forever."
And the newspaper "France Football" announced the date of presenting the Ballon d'Or award for the best player in 2022 on October 17 in France.
The Ballon d'Or is an award presented to the best player in the world by France Football and is the most famous award alongside "the best" presented by the International Football Association Board.
The award will be presented for the first time based on the players' performance over the season from August 2021 until July 2022, unlike previous years, which provided the award based on the players' performance throughout the year.
