Jurgen Klopp, coach of Liverpool, has clarified the club's position on signing a midfielder during the current summer transfer market.
Thiago Alcantara recently joined the trio of Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and Oxlade Chamberlain in the absence of the Liverpool midfield, which has become a dilemma for the team at the present time.
"There are different solutions, one of which is the transfer market, which makes sense if you can sign the right player," Klopp said in the press conference before facing Crystal Palace.
"If there is a suitable player there will be a chance, but I don't see that because we have a lot of conversations and nothing seems to happen."
"We are not stubborn, we know what the team needs, and if there was an appropriate solution in the transfer market, we would have done it already."
And about the possibility of Harvey Elliott appearing in the middle, he explained, "He is a wonderful and extraordinary boy, who appeared in front of Fulham after Thiago's injury and had a real impact and appeared in the preparatory period very well."
And about the praise of Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez, he replied, "It is a good partnership, I saw the determination to score and good positioning on their part in the previous match."
And he added, "Salah is in a good position, and Nunez is adapting, this partnership was not one of the problems we faced against Fulham."
Liverpool tied Fulham in the first round of the English Premier League with two goals for the same.
Liverpool will host Crystal Palace next Monday in the second round of the competition.
