Guardiola to City players: Do you know why Messi is the best in the world?

Motivational letter from the Spanish coach

Manchester City, the English club, has shown the second episode of its new documentary series, "The Champions Again", to talk about winning the domestic league last season.

The documentary was shown for the first time on July 27, and is shown in seven episodes, to reveal behind the scenes of City's victory in the English Premier League for the 2021/22 season.

The new episode witnessed the scenes of coach Pep Guardiola talking to the team's players to motivate them, using his experience working with Argentine star Lionel Messi in Barcelona.

What did Guardiola say about Messi?

The Spanish coach appeared instructing his players in the dressing room, praising the Argentine star, who worked with him from 2008 to 2021.

Guardiola said during his speech: "Do you know why Messi is the best player I've ever seen? Because he's a competitor and plays like an animal" a metaphor.

He added: "Now we have to pass the ball and look around after doing that and then break into the attack because we need to score goals."

He continued: "Messi passes the ball and enters the dangerous areas like a machine, he smells the goal and this is what we must do."

Is City repeat winning the English Premier League?

The defending champion has sold many players in the current summer Mercato, most notably Oleksandr Zinchenko, Gabriel Jesus and Raheem Sterling.

On the other hand, he signed Leeds United midfielder Calvin Phillips, and brought Julian Alvarez from River Plate and Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

The start was not good with the loss of the Community Shield Cup against Liverpool, and the team may need more support with an alternative to Sterling and Zinchenko if he wants to be on the podium in the new season.
