Talk about his different experience with Xavi
Star of Leeds United and current Barcelona star Rafinha has expressed his gratitude to the man who brought him to the place he now enjoys in European football.
Rafinha has become one of the best wingers in the English Premier League since his move to Leeds in 2020 from Rennes, France, for 18.60 million euros.
The Brazilian believes that Marcelo Bielsa, the coach of the English team, who brought him to the club and was sacked last February, is credited with his move to the Catalan club.
What did Rafinha say about Marcelo Bielsa?
The Brazilian star told Mundo Deportivo: "He is a coach who helped me a lot from the first moment I arrived in Leeds, because he always asks you more to reach the best possible level."
He added, "He helped me play for the Brazilian national team and also helped me reach Barcelona. If not for his teachings, individually or collectively, I would not be in the position that I am now."
He continued, "In addition to his playing style, which is always based on respecting the ball and exploiting possession, he strives to bring out the best in you in all matches. He was an important person for me and my career."
How did he talk about Xavi?
Rafinha is preparing to enter a new era with Barcelona, after moving to the Catalan team this summer in a deal that cost the club 65 million euros after two brilliant seasons in Leeds.
The player enjoyed a great start to his career with Barcelona in the pre-season, where he scored once and provided a decisive pass against Inter Miami, and scored his team's only goal in winning the friendly Clasico against Real Madrid in Las Vegas, USA.
Rafinha said about his new coach Xavi and his comparison with Bielsa: "They are different. Marcelo has a unique way of working and has his own style."
He explained: “Each coach in them is different from the other, because each person has his own way of managing his life, and the same for the players.
