Saint-Germain, which includes the fiery trio of Kylian Mbappe, Brazilian Neymar and Argentine Lionel Messi, will play against Kawasaki Frontale, Urawa Reds and Gamba Osaka during their 10-day stay in Japan.
"We have three matches against very good opponents," new Paris Saint-Germain coach Galtier told a news conference in Tokyo in front of about 100 journalists. "Japanese football is at a very high level and its players have good technique and good speed. I hope these matches will be a good preparation for the Champions Cup," he added.
As for Messi, he considered that Japanese football "has made some big strides forward". "They are very organized and competitive. They have become more competitive physically," he added.
Saint-Germain has 25 players in Japan and the team landed at Tokyo's Haneda Airport shortly before midday.
