Without referring to the expiry date, Liverpool announced on Friday the renewal of Salah's contract that was supposed to expire in the summer of 2023. The reports mentioned that the contract renewal for Salah is for three years, with a weekly salary ranging from 350 to 400 thousand pounds a week.
Salah told Liverpoolfc.com: “I feel great and [I am] excited to win trophies with the club. It’s a happy day for everyone”.
“It takes a little bit of time, I think, to renew, but now everything is done so we just need to focus on what’s next.
“I think you can see in the last five or six years the team was always going [upwards]. Last season we were close to winning four, but unfortunately in the last week of the season, we lost two trophies.
“I think we are in a good position to fight for everything. We have new signings as well. We just need to keep working hard, have a good vision, be positive and go for everything again.”
"My message to the fans is that they must be sure that the goal of every player on this team is to win the championships, and your support gives us the boost, and I'm sure that we will win the championships again together".
After that, the Liverpool account tweeted a video for Salah saying: “Welcome, I am very happy and proud to renew my contract with the club and hope to win more trophies together.”
The Liverpool Arab Account then published a letter from Salah in Arabic in which he said: "Good morning, I hope you're doing well. Surely, I'm happy to renew with the club and I hope in the coming period, we will win a lot of championships."
Ambiguity and attack
Rami Abbas, Salah's agent, responded weirdly to Salah's renewal story with a laughing emoji via his Twitter account.
That tweet made Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher attack Rami Abbas and tell him on Twitter as well: The Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher responded aggressively to Rami Abbas's tweet on Twitter as well: "All Reds love your client, and if he is to leave next summer, we will wish him well and say big thank you, But we can do without this cryptic nonsense for the next months, Salah say something!"
Liverpool’s official account then surprised everyone by quoting Rami Abbas' tweet, which happened for the first time during the nearly a year-and-a-half of negotiations.
Salah then posted on Twitter a picture of him looking at something.
Liverpool then posted a video of Salah's whereabouts.
Minutes later, Liverpool posted a video of Salah looking at his phone and reading tweets about his contract renewal issue. Then he wore the club shirt and said: "Salah stays."
