On Monday, Manchester City announced the signing of England midfielder and United midfielder Calvin Philips on a long-term contract. Calvin Philips's contract is a six-year contract without announcing the contract's value; however, reports indicated that the deal's worth is £45 million.
The deal was announced half an hour after announcing the 45 million transfer of the Brazilian player Gabriel Jesus from Man City to Arsenal.
According to Manchester City's Twitter official account, Calvin Philips, the Leeds United player, has signed a six-year contract.
The Daily Mail had earlier reported that Philips would conduct the medical tests on Friday, and if all went well, the £45 million deal would be announced.
Last week, Leeds and Manchester agreed on the value of the contract and Philips's clauses, but the midfielder was on leave.
Philips is expected to reinforce the squad of the Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, who announced the transfer of the Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal.
"City have again proved to be the best team in the country with an amazing squad and a manager in Pep Guardiola who is rightly considered to be the finest in the world," Phillips said.
Phillips will make up for the departure of Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho, after a successful career with the City Lions.
The player, who has played for Leeds since the age of 14, has made 234 appearances for eight seasons, scoring 14 goals and assisting 14.
Philips will be Manchester City's second deal this summer, after the arrival of Erling Halland for £51 million.
